Men's Volleyball Takes Down SUNY Potsdam, 3-1
BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's volleyball team defeated SUNY Potsdam in four sets (25-22, 21-25, 25-20, 25-15) in Saturday's New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) matinee matchup from MacDonald Gymnasium.
Aidan Iacovelli (South Windsor, Conn.) led the Gulls with a match-high 20 kills while also picking up seven digs.
Jake Laborde (Brookline, N.H.) joined him in double-digits with a 14-kill, five-dig effort, while Thomas Matchett (North Smithfield, R.I.) and Jackson Gray (Glenmont, N.Y.) logged nine and seven kills, respectively.
Matty Tiernan (Bradford, R.I.) led the squad with his 47 assists, and Dan Battista (Bethlehem, N.Y.) recorded a team-high 22 digs from the back line.
The Gulls outhit the Bears in all three sets they won, and concluded the match hitting a monster .481 in the fourth set.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott improves to 6-1 all-time versus Potsdam.
- The Gulls have won 16 straight matches, their longest win streak ever.
- Third match this season that Tiernan has dished out 45+ assists.
- Battista recorded his second kill of the season in the final set, perfectly dumping one into the back right corner.
- Iacovelli has logged 20+ kills in three matches this season.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (17-3, 5-0 NEVC) heads to Nichols next Saturday for a 1 PM NEVC matchup. Potsdam (8-5, 3-3 NEVC) travels to Hartwick next Friday for a 7 PM non-conference match.
