DUDLEY, Mass. — The Endicott men's volleyball team swept Nichols (25-20, 25-21, and 25-18) in Saturday afternoon's New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) matchup from inside Nichols Athletic Center.
Aidan Iacovelli (South Windsor, Conn.) and Jake Laborde (Brookline, N.H.) led the Gulls' offense, each racking up kill totals in the double-digits. Iacovelli netted 18 putaways on 37 attempts (.324 hitting percentage), while Laborde logged 10 kills and picked up two assists.
The two senior outsides also chipped in defensively, as they combined for 15 digs (Iacovelli with eight, Laborde with seven).
Avery Tyson (Fayetteville, N.Y.), Aaron Bennett (Haverhill, Mass.) and Aidan Barron (Amherst, N.Y.) each contributed to the offensive attack with incredibly efficient days. Tyson was a perfect nine-for-nine from the floor (nine kills on nine attempts), while Bennett and Barron notched six kills (.300) and five kills (.625), respectively.
Matty Tiernan (Bradford, R.I.) paced the offense with his 42 assists, while Dan Battista (Bethlehem, N.Y.) notched 15 digs from the back line.
The Gulls and Bison found themselves within a point of each other midway through each of the first two sets, but impressive efforts from the Gulls late in each of those sets resulted in a 2-0 lead.
