Battista & Iacovelli Claim AVCA All-America Honorable Mention Accolades
BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's volleyball student-athletes Dan Battista (Bethlehem, N.Y.) and Aidan Iacovelli (South Windsor, Conn.) have both earned American Volleyball Coaches Organization (AVCA) All-America Honorable Mention honors.
This is both student-athletes first career AVCA All-America Honorable Mention selection.

Battista has continued to collect postseason awards after being named NEVC Defensive Player of the Year, All-NEVC First Team, and AVCA All-Region I honors.
The Bethlehem, N.Y. showed why he was the Defensive Player of the Year during four postseason matches as he accumulated 54 digs (3.86 digs per set) and was a perfect 84-84 in serve receive.
With his 321 digs this season the junior ranks fifth for most digs in a single season. He is the only student-athlete inside the top-10 to do so in under 100 sets played.
Battista's 20-dig performance versus Nichols in the NEVC Championship match ranks 10th across all of Division III for most digs in a three set match. Also, his 22-dig match against SUNY Potsdam is No. 8 for most digs in a four-set match.

In addition to being named an All-American, Iacovelli has earned NEVC Player of the Year, All-NEVC First Team, and AVCA All-Region I honors over the past several weeks.
For the season, the senior recorded 373 kills which ranks 8th in program history for kills in a single season.
His career-high mark of 26 kills against Bard earlier this season ranks 7th nationally for most kills in a four set match.
Across four postseason matches, Iacovelli led the Gulls with 66 kills (4.71 k/s), a .397 hitting percentage, had 15 digs, eight block assists, and was 91-96 in serve receive.
For his career, the South Windsor, Conn. native ranks No. 6 in kills (945), No. 4 in kills per set (3.50), No. 7 in Total Attempts (2151), No. 8 in points (1019.5), and No. 6 in points per set (3.8).
