    • Endicott Men Finish Fourth at Saints Invitational as Marshall Finishes Fifth

    BOSTON, Mass.- Behind four top-25 finishes, the Endicott men’s cross country team posted a fourth place finish at the Emmanuel Saints Invitational at Franklin Park in the tune-up for the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship. The Gulls will have two weeks of preparation before competing at the CCC Championship in Bristol, R.I. at Roger Williams.

    BOSTON, Mass.- Behind four top-25 finishes, the Endicott men's cross country team posted a fourth place finish at the Emmanuel Saints Invitational at Franklin Park in the tune-up for the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship. The Gulls will have two weeks of preparation before competing at the CCC Championship in Bristol, R.I. at Roger Williams.

    The Gulls saw their top four runners finish in the top-25 overall as they were led by Zach Marshall's (Hinesburg, Vt.) fifth place showing overall. The sophomore traversed the 7.95k course in a time of 26:51.53, just 21 seconds off the winning pace.

    Freshmen Austin Landry (Readfield, Maine) and Patrick Finocchiaro (Salem, N.H.) finished back-to-back in 14th and 15th place. Landry recorded a time of 27:27.84 while Finocchiaro logged a time of 27:32.55. Sophomore James Dwyer (Berlin, Conn.) crossed in a time of 27:59.89 to finish 22nd overall, his first top-25 showing of the season as he continues to get stronger as the season progresses.

    Noah Mondello (Gloucester, Mass.) closed out the Endicott scoring with a 52nd place showing with a time of 29:13.96. Freshman Brendan Sasse () continued to run well, placing 74th in the field of 203 with a time of 29:50.25.

    "The guys continued to run seasonal and personal bests on a tough course after a short week of recovery," said head coach Spencer Lange. "Patrick ran a very smart race with Austin and it was great to see them work together. Zach ran another PR while running in the top pack.  Their fitness has helped them through the latter part of the races on tough courses. It was important to run in another race with a lot of teams to get comfortable running in the packs, very similar to Regionals. We're focused on staying healthy and keeping things rolling into Conference."

    INSIDE THE TIMES

    • Marshall and Landry continue to ride an impressive streak as the duo finished 1-2 for the Gulls for the second straight race. Marshall has now finished as Endicott's top runner in every race this season and last.
    • The Gulls finished behind only Wentworth, Norwich and Fitchburg State as the Gulls closed the race with a score of 106, 10 points better than Plymouth State in fifth.

    WHAT'S NEXT

    Endicott has two weeks to prepare for their postseason run that begins on October 31st with the CCC Championship at Roger Williams. That is followed by the NCAA DIII New England Regionals on November 14th at the Harkness Memorial Park in Waterford, Conn. If the Gulls qualify, the NCAA DIII National Championships are held the following week, November 21st, in Winneconne, Wis.
