BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships this Saturday at 1 PM and 12 PM, respectively, on the campus of Western New England University in Springfield, Mass. Here's a preview of the CCC Championships for both teams.
ENDICOTT MEN: Endicott's depth will be the key to its success come Saturday as the Gulls will look to Zach Marshall (Hinesburg, Vt.), Will Connelly (Barrington, R.I.), James Dwyer (Berlin, Conn.), Patrick Finocchiaro (Salem, N.H.), Adam Germaine (Guilford, Conn.), and Brendan Sasse (Westport, Mass.) to stay connected as a pack throughout the 8-kilometer layout at Western New England that features many turns and tight areas to run in.
So far this season, the Gulls' top-5 has kept their differential under 1:30 twice, which bodes well for a top-3 placement if they can replicate or exceed those results on Saturday.
ENDICOTT WOMEN: Abigail Keim (Williston, Vt.), the reigning CCC Rookie of the Year, has led Endicott in every race this year, and Saturday should prove no different. Following behind Keim are Keira Malone (Woburn, Mass.) and Laura Pomeroy (Windham, N.H.) who both will be looked upon to keep the gap tight in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots in Endicott's top-5. After Malone and Pomeroy, the Gulls feature several strong contributors that will be tasked with making an impact in Saturday's race. Those harriers include Maeve Kelly (Washingtonville, N.Y.), Kelly O'Neill (Cumberland, R.I.), Hannah Mason (Deefield, N.H.), Brooke Robishaw (Ipswich, Mass.), Alexis Black (Newtown, Conn.), and Kristie Kaminski (Rocky Hill, Conn.).
