Men’s Cross Country Places 12th At NCAA D3 East Region Championship
BOSTON, Mass. – The Endicott men’s cross country team finished 12th overall out of 33 teams at the NCAA Division III East Region Championship on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park.

MIT dominated the field taking the second, third, fifth, sixth, and seventh spots respectively for a team score of 23 points.
Colby (67), Tufts (118), Bates (126), and WPI (153) rounded out the top-5, while Endicott notched 466 points for its 12th place finish. The Gulls also ranked ahead of Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) foes the University of New England (488), Gordon (527), Nichols (649), and Wentworth (679).
Individually, Colin Costa (West Newbury, Mass.) led the Gulls with a 53rd place finish on the 8-kilometer course (27:53).
The rest of Endicott's top-5 included Caleb Nye (Hinesburg, Vt.), Cooper Downey (Hudson, N.H.), Josh Lehmann (Gorham, Maine), and Andrew Lauzon (North Andover, Mass.). Nye ranked 64th overall (28:10), while the remaining trio placed 102nd (29:09), 121st (29:48), and 126th (29:54).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- This was the first-ever NCAA D3 East Region Championship.
- In July 2021, the NCAA DIII Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Committee, as well as the Division III Championships Committee, approved a 10-region realignment model for cross country.
- Costa (28:01, eight seconds), Nye (28:24, 14 seconds), and Lauzon (30:24, 30 seconds) all ran faster times today in comparison to when the Gulls ran at Franklin Park as part of the Suffolk Invitational.
