Freshman Botwick, Prior, Introduced to NEISA Competition

Brendan Prior and Jefferey Botwick were paired together for Endicott's first fall event, at Tufts' "Freshman Symposium" for all new sailors.

The Freshman Symposium is a hands on weekend of in-class tutorial by renowned coach Ken Legler, followed by on the water practices and regatta. While EC managed several finishes in the front of the pack, the overall results were mixed. Finishing \# 16 out of 18 in Total Races, EC tied for 9th (out of 10) to conclude the weekend.

The team gets back together next weekend as a total of six sailors travel to Boston University in another NEISA event-where the competition only gets better. Results are below:

FINAL RESULTS

Regatta Highlights: 8 races were sailed with combined divisions in typical Mystic Lake conditions. True to Ken's prediction on Saturday, the only thing that was constant throughout the day was that the wind was not. The wind started light but built throughout the day to WNW at 3-10 knots with large and frequent shifts. The courses consisted of Triangle Windward-Leeward and Triangle Windward-Leeward-Windward.

Competitors did a good job sharing a crowded lake with the Snipe fleets from Winchester and Medford Boat Clubs competing in the annual Mystic Lake Open.

Thanks to Tufts Coach and PRO Ken Legler for, as usual, running an extremely efficient event. Thanks to all the Tufts sailors who assisted with lifting, launching, and fixing boats during Saturday's practice and Sunday's competition: Colin Patterson, Jamie Altreuter, Margaret Rew, Catherine Swanson, and Liz Lynch.
