Katie is a versatile player and has played the outfield and infield as well as catcher, before she found her niche at 3rd base and has started there last year. In her senior season at Saugus High School, Katie was a 3-sport captain in Field Hockey, Indoor Track and Softball. She was also a NEC All-Star as well as being selected to play in the Agganis All-Star Classic. Her senior year, Katie won the Female Athlete of the Year Award as well as the Diane Bena Athlete Award. She also won the Unsung Hero award both her junior and senior seasons.
