BOSTON, Mass. — The Endicott softball team split a doubleheader against Wentworth, 1-2 and 8-0 (6 inn), in a Conference of New England (CNE) matchup on Sunday afternoon.
GAME ONE: WENTWORTH 2, ENDICOTT 1
WP (5-9): Julie Schiver (Moscow, Pa.) — 7.0 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 3 K
LP (4-2): Kristen Beebe (Brentwood, N.H.) — 4.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K
Abby McClaflin (Easthampton, Mass.) led the charge with two hits, while Maddie Beeley (Salem, N.H.), Catherine Seay (Marlborough, Mass.), Caroline Cummings (Trumbull, Conn.), and Vania Moniz (Salem, N.H.) each added one hit in the loss.
The Gulls struck first as Beeley delivered an RBI double to left field to score McClaflin, but ultimately came up short despite threatening in the seventh with runners on second and third.
GAME TWO: ENDICOTT 8, WENTWORTH 0 (6 INN.)
WP (6-4): Analise Grady (Reading, Mass.) — 6.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 3 K
LP (1-10): Julia Malowitz (Methuen, Mass.) — 4.2 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 3 BB, 2 K
The Gulls opened the scoring in the third inning on an RBI single from Elyse Saccoccio (Coventry, R.I) to bring home McLaren.
McClaflin then delivered a two-run single to center to extend the lead to three. The Blue and Green added five more runs across the fifth and sixth innings to secure the 7-0 victory.
Ella Tower (Windham, N.H.) highlighted the offense, going 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Ava Kelley (Norfolk, Mass) and Kylyn McLaren (Rochester, N.H.) each tallied two hits in the win.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott leads the all-time series against Wentworth, 50-3-1.
- Tower tied her career-high with three hits.
- McClaflin recorded her eighth multi-hit game of the season.

Endicott (12-9, 7-2 CNE) visits Tufts on Wednesday, April 15 at 4 PM. Wentworth (6-21, 4-8 CNE) travels to Rivier on Wednesday, April 15 for a doubleheader (4/6 PM).
