Feb. 24, 2009
BEVERLY, Mass. - The second-seeded Endicott College women's basketball team (21-4 overall, 12-1 TCCC) opens The Commonwealth Coast Conference Playoffs tonight as the Gulls host seventh-seeded Regis College (17-8, 7-6 TCCC) for a Quarterfinal match-up beginning at 7:00 p.m. Admission is \$4.00 for adults, \$2.00 for students and children 12 and under are free. Endicott students will also receive free admission with their Gull Cards.
Endicott, who enters tonight's contest riding a 12-game winning streak that dates back to January 13th, looks to build upon a program-record 21 wins so far this season. Tonight's game is a rematch of the February 7th showdown where the Gulls defeated Regis, 78-72, in Beverly, Mass.
The Blue and Green are led by a pair of All-Conference selections in Nicole Duchesne (Plaistow, N.H.) and Ashley Vitale (Wilmington, Mass.), awards that were announced on Monday by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye. Regis will attempt to counter with Second Team honoree Jessie Page (Quincy, Mass.) and senior Honorable Mention selection Kim Mariotti (Springfield, Mass.).
Endicott students are invited to Crowd the Nest and wear their green "Power Gull" t-shirts for a chance to win prizes! Come support the Gulls as they begin the chase for their first-ever TCCC Championship.
