Endicott Downs Salve Regina, 63-53

NEWPORT, R.I. – The Endicott women's basketball team traveled to Salve Regina for an important Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup on Wednesday evening and the Gulls came away with a 63-53 win.

The Seahawks came out strong in the first quarter, taking a slight 15-12 lead in the first ten minutes of play. 

However, the Gulls continued to battle and went on 9-2 run in the last 5:11 of the second quarter to gain a 30-23 advantage at the half. 

Salve Regina wouldn't go down without a fight in the third and fourth quarters though. The Seahawks came within two points of the lead with 6:47 remaining to be played in the fourth quarter before Endicott pulled away to secure the 63-53 victory. 

Emily Pratt (Gardner, Mass.) led all scorers with 23 points and she also pulled down four rebounds. Kaleigh Putnam (Wallingford, Conn.) and Mikaela Rogers (Haverhill, Mass.) added 16 and 13 points, respectively, for the Gulls. 


  • Endicott is 8-1 in the month of January.
  • Catie Lipscomb (West Springfield, Mass.) recorded a team-high six rebounds for the Gulls. 
  • Mary Rorke (Norton, Mass.) led the Seahawks offensively with 17 points, while Liv Pierce (Tyngsboro, Mass.) and Lauryn Becker (Hanover, Mass.) each had 12. 
  • The Gulls saw 22 points off of Seahawk turnovers. 


Endicott (14-6, 10-1 CCC) hosts Wentworth on Saturday, February 2 at 1 PM. Salve Regina (9-12, 5-7) welcomes the University of New England at 1 PM on Saturday.
