BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 9 natioanlly ranked Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated the University of New England (UNE), 3-0, on Friday night, at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
The Gulls opened the scoring through Madison Huber (Pittsburgh, Pa.) when she fired a shot into the top right corner, from the left faceoff circle to give Endicott a 1-0 lead.
Jillian Gibbs (Burlington, Vt.) then gave the Gulls a 2-0 lead just 15 seconds into the second period when she redirected a Michaela McNamara (Warwick, R.I.) point shot.
Meanwhile, Jade Meier (Fairbanks, Alaska) rounded out the scoring for the Gulls making it 3-0 with a wrister from the left faceoff circle.
In goal, Alyssa Peterson (Cranberry Township, Pa.) made 17 saves to earn her sixth shutout and improve to 14-2-0 on the season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Madison Hentosh (Peabody, Mass.), Lauren Ferraiuolo (North Haven, Conn.), Meier and McNamara all registered assists tonight for Endicott
- Meier notched her 11th multi-point game tonight for the Gulls.
- The senior forward currently ranks sixth in all of Division III in points per game at 1.52.
- Endicott now leads the all-time series over UNE, 5-1.
WHAT'S NEXT
No. 9 Endicott (22-2-0, 15-0-0 CHC) and UNE (15-7-2, 10-3-2) will face off again tomorrow at UNE at 4 PM.
