No. 10 Women's Ice Hockey Stifles Wesleyan (Conn.), 3-0
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — The No. 10 Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated Wesleyan (Conn.), 3-0, in non-conference action on Tuesday night at Spurrier-Snyder Rink.
Lily Anderson (St. Paul, Minn.) got the scoring started for the Gulls just three minutes and 46 seconds into the contest. The junior picked up a loose puck in front of the net and beat the Wesleyan goalie for her first tally of the season.
With the Blue and Green still in front 1-0, Ella Rago (Westford, Mass.) doubled the lead two and a half minutes into the second period off a breakaway chance. Rago saw herself one-on-one with the goalie and deked around her to pot her fourth goal of the season. Maddie DiNardo (Topsfield, Mass.) set up the goal as she fired a pass from inside her own zone to Rago, who split both Cardinal defenders at center ice to get in behind them and find the back of the net.
Later in the second, Cammi Ahern (Oswego, N.Y.) finished the scoring in the road victory off feeds from Teaghan Hall (West Springfield, Mass.) and Anderson.
In goal, Lauren Ferrari (Bridgewater, N.J.) made 27 saves to improve her record to 7-2-0 this season including 10 in the third period to keep the Cardinals off the scoreboard. The shutout was her second shutout this season and sixth of her career.
