Gulls Are a Perfect 3-0 in Conference Action

Biddeford, ME - The Gulls continued their conference streak today improving to 3-0, 4-2 overall, after routing the UNE Nor'easters 20-5. UNE pulled within three goals in the first half when Ruth Ness scored to make it 7-4, but the Gulls answered quickly holding the home team to just one more goal in the game.
Gulls scoring was spread evenly throughout the line-up, with players from both ends of the field chipping in. Scoring for Endicott were juniors Jess Blair (Middlebury, VT) and Christine Wilmott (Barre, VT) with four goals each, Katie White (Sr/Ridgefield, CT) with three goals, Heather Hatfield (So/Tyngsboro, MA), Susie Neikirk (So/Scotia, NY), and Cathy Sharp (So/Rutland, VT) with two apiece, and rounding out the scoring with one each were Emily McCarthy (Jr/Portland, ME) and Lindsey O'Connell (Fr/Mansfield, MA). Lauren Gibbons (So/Shaker Heights, OH), Blair, and Neikirk provided assists for the Gulls.
In goal, freshman keeper Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH) and sophomore Katie Tavella (Madison, CT) faced 16 shots to come up with 11 saves.
This was Endicott's first win over UNE in women's lacrosse. With three conference wins and no losses, the Gulls are currently in first place in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Gulls face non-conference opponent Mount Holyoke at home on Thursday, April 1 at 4:00 pm to improve their record to 5-2.
