2005 Gulls Captains
Sept. 13, 2004
Beverly, MA - Seniors Jess Blair (Middlebury, VT) and Emily McCarthy (Portland, ME) have been selected to captain the 2005 Endicott women's lacrosse team.
Blair and McCarthy have each been key contributors to the Gulls during their previous three seasons with the team. McCarthy is a solid defensive player with the ability to mark any opponent and transition the ball into the Gulls' offensive end. She is an extremely versatile player, scoring twice last season from her position as a low defender. Blair possesses unparalleled stick skills as one of EC's top midfielders, consistently contributing ground balls and draw controls. Blair notched 24 points last season with 21 goals and 3 assists. Both were captains during the Gulls 2004 season and will carry over their experience and determination into their final year with the Gulls.
The 2005 Gulls will look to improve on their success from the 2004 season when they posted an impressive record of 8-10 overall, ending the season 5-6 to conference rival Gordon College in the semi-final match of the CCC Tournament. The Gulls return all but one player from last year's squad, and are joined by a talented first year class that they expect will both strenghten and deepen their existing roster.
