BEVERLY, Mass. — The first-seeded Endicott women's lacrosse team will host fifth-seeded Western New England University in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament semifinals on Tuesday, April 30 at 7 PM. Here's a preview of this week's playoff contest.
Meanwhile, the Gulls lead the all-time series, 18-6, and have won the last four meetings. In those four contests, Endicott has outscored Western New England, 69-19.
HOW THEY GOT HERE
Endicott received an automatic bye into the semifinal round of the CCC Tournament by earning the conference's No. 1 seed via an 8-0 league record.
The Gulls lead the CCC in goals per game (20.88) and goals against average (3.63) in conference-only games this season.
Individually, Endicott's top-three point-getters include Jennifer Lacroix (Wrentham, Mass.), Jackie Healy (Northborough, Mass.), and Maya Feigenbaum (West Hartford, Conn.). Lacroix leads the group with 65 points (51g, 14a), while Healy ranks second (24g, 22a), and Feigenbaum is positioned third (19g, 20a).
SCOUTING WESTERN NEW ENGLAND
The Golden Bears are fifth in conference-only games in goals per game (14.00) and goals against average (13.38).
Individually, Western New England's top-three points leaders include Eileen Ruby (New Fairfield, Conn.), Kristen Breen (Ellington, Conn.), and Reilly Miller (Goshen, N.Y.). Ruby currently has 64 points this season (41g, 23a), while Breen has recorded 58 points (45g, 13a), and Miller has notched 47 points (34g, 13a).
WHAT'S AT STAKE
The winner of Tuesday's CCC Semifinal game will take on the winner of No. 3 University of New England / No. 2 Roger Williams in the CCC Championship at the highest remaining seed (time to be determined later).
