Women's Lacrosse Surges Past Gordon, 24-7

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's lacrosse team defeated Gordon, 24-7, in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Hempstead Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Gulls were led by Ava Amara (Southbury, Conn.), Leah Black (Cheshire, Conn.), Mia Samarjian (Stow, Mass.), and Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) as they scored hat-tricks in the win.
Kendal Kelsey (Queensbury, N.Y.), Grace McAfee (Marmora, N.J.), and Bailey Sheehan (Pomfret, Conn.) all found the back of the net twice.
Abbie Belleville (Salem, Conn.), Annabelle Gray (Londonderry, Vt.), Sophia Notine (Arundel, Maine), Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.), Kelsey Sullivan (Nashville, Tenn.), and Emily Typrowicz (Palos Verdes, Calif.) each scored once.
Payton Quirk (Nahant, Mass.) improved her record to 13-4 on the season in 42:58 action, while Emma Budke (Rye, N.Y.) made three saves during her 17:02 of action.
The Gulls raced out to an 8-1 lead by the end of the first quarter with five different goal scorers. The second quarter saw a similar result as Endicott used a 6-2 scoring advantage to take a 14-3 lead heading to the halftime break.
From there, Endicott outscored Gordon, 10-4, in the second half to pick up the home win.

Endicott (13-4, 9-0 CNE) enters the upcoming CNE tournament as the No. 1 seed and has earned a bye to the semifinals, which will take place on Wednesday, April 30 at home with the opponent and time to be determined. Gordon sees its season come to a close with a record of 2-14 and a CNE record of 1-8.
