Late Goal Sends No. 12 Colby Past Women's Lacrosse, 11-10 (OT)
WATERVILLE, Maine. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team fell to No. 12 Colby, 11-10 (OT), in non-conference action on Wednesday night at Bill Alfond Field.
Emerson Clark (Gloucester, Mass.) led the Gulls with a hat-trick, while Ava Amara (Southbury, Conn.), Abbie Belleville (Salem, Conn.), and Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.) all found the back of the net twice. Leah Black (Cheshire, Conn.) added a solo tally.
In goal, Severine Michel (Seekonk, Mass.) was dealt the loss (5-1) as she made five saves in the contest.
After the Mules got on the board 55 seconds into the contest, Black tied the game up with her 19th tally of the season. Still tied at one in the second quarter, the two teams traded goals as they remained squared up 3-3 heading to halftime.
Coming out of half, Smith's first goal of the game gave Endicott their first lead with just over 13 minutes remaining in the third quarter. The hosts then put themselves back in front with two goals just 21 seconds apart.
The Blue and Green then went on a 3-0 scoring run (Clark, Amara, and Belleville) over the next 10:22 in the game to take a 7-5 lead at the 14:20 mark of the fourth quarter. A Colby goal put an end to the run but Smith responded 34 seconds later to regain Endicott's two-goal advantage.
The Mules took control of the game as they scored four consecutive over a 3:08 span to take a 10-8 lead. Endicott never gave up as tallies from Amara and Clark 59 seconds apart tied the game up. After Colby won the ensuing draw and called a timeout, Michel made a key save with 10 seconds remaining to help send the game into overtime.
In overtime, both teams had chances before the Mules were able to find the eventual winner with just six seconds remaining on the clock.

Endicott (7-2) resumes conference play when it visits Wentworth on Friday, April 3rd at 3 PM. No. 12 Colby (6-3) hosts No. 5 Amherst at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 4 for Senior Day.
