BOSTON, Mass. - The Endicott women's rugby program got off to a great start last Saturday with a 103-12 win over Wentworth in their first matchup of the 2018 season.
The Gulls took flight early and never let up, as Endicott maintained a comfortable lead throughout the game. In addition to its strong and effective defensive presence, several Endicott student-athletes registered outstanding offensive performances throughout the afternoon:
Shannon O'Malley (Lewiston, Maine) - 7 tries
Amanda Poulin (Turner, Maine) - 5 tries & 6 conversions
Felicia Bouchard (Wales, Mass.) - 2 tries
Kelsey Joyce (Wharton, N.J.) - 1 try & 5 conversions
Jordan Zak (Brimfield, Mass.) - 1 try
Natalie Shambo (Hopkinton, Mass.) - 1 try
"[This is] Shannon O'Malley's first rugby match ever," said Endicott women's rugby head coach Carly Baker. "She had a great performance, as well as the rest of our team. The vets were super helpful and supportive leading up to this match. It was an impressive first win, overall."
In their next matchup, the Gulls will host the Lyons of Wheaton College at Hempstead Stadium on Sunday, September 23rd at 11 AM.
