Endicott aims for six in a row, favorites in preseason

BEVERLY, Mass. - The five-time defending TCCC champion Endicott women's soccer team has been selected as the conference's preseason favorite in the annual poll released on Wednesday by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye. The Gulls (17-6, 11-2 TCCC) received 11 of the 14 first-place votes, as the Blue and Green pursue a sixth-straight crown in 2008.
Western New England College finished just points ahead of Roger Williams for the number two spot heading into the season. The Golden Bears were awarded one first place vote while the Hawks were picked as the top-team by two TCCC coaches. Gordon College and Curry College were picked to finish fourth and fifth, respectively.
Teams received 14 points for every first place vote received, 13 points for second place votes, 12 points for third place votes, down to one point for a last place vote. First place votes are shown in parentheses.
Endicott opens its season on Labor Day (Monday, September 1st) as the Blue and Green take on Babson College at Endicott Stadium. Game time is slated for 3:00 p.m. in Beverly, Mass.
