Sept. 13, 2008
WESTON, Mass. - The Endicott College women's soccer team exploded for eight goals, seven unanswered, in a dominating 8-1 performance against Regis College. The Gulls' Kayla Plante (Sanford, Maine) notched four goals and an assist to lead the Blue and Green in their The Commonwealth Coast Conference opener.
Endicott over matched the Pride from the get-go, outshooting the hosts, 49-3, on Saturday. The Gulls rifled off 26 shots in the first half, however could only find the back of the net twice in the opening frame.
In the second, the Blue and Green took a stronghold on the contest as they posted six unanswered tallies to close out the game. Regis goalkeeper Jackie Sullivan (Naples, Fla.) was called upon to make 18 saves in the setback.
The victory snaps a three-game winless streak for the Gulls. Endicott will look to keep its offense rolling on Wednesday as the Gulls play host to Roger Williams University in a TCCC showdown at 4:00 p.m.
