Offensive leaders pace Endicott past WNEC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Endicott College women's soccer team kept its perfect TCCC record intact, as the Gulls shutout conference foe Western New England College, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon in Springfield, Mass. The shutout marks the fifth of the season for the Blue and Green and extends the Gulls' unbeaten streak to seven games.
Endicott improves its record to 6-0 in the conference and 7-2-1 overall while Western New England College drops to 3-7 and 2-3 in TCCC play.
Freshman forward Colleen Pepin (Fairhaven, Mass.) got the Gulls on the board early with her eighth goal of the season in the eighth minute on a shot that rebounded off the hands of Western New England College junior goalkeeper Jessica Covino (Bristol, Conn).
This was Covino's first start since September 10th after she suffered from a concussion against Springfield. She finished with seven saves.
Later, in the 22nd minute, junior midfielder Caitlin Flynn (Southhold, N.Y.) notched in her seventh goal of the season to wrap up the Endicott scoring.
Pepin (eight goals, two assists) and Flynn (seven goals, four assists) are both tied for the team lead in points with 18. Senior goalkeeper Amy Meuse (Saugus, Mass.) made six saves to improve her record to 6-1 overall. Endicott outshot Western New England 19-9.
The Blue and Green return to action on Saturday afternoon as the Gulls play host to Salve Regina University in Beverly, Mass. Game time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
