Gulls place four on NEWISA All-New England

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott College women’s soccer team had four players named to the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association’s All-New England team(s), as announced on Wednesday. The Gulls’ \#Caitlin Flynn\# (Southold, N.Y.) and \#Caitlin Peters\# (Salem, N.H.) were named First Team selections, while \#Amy Meuse\# (Saugus, Mass.) and \#Kayla Plante\# (Sanford, Maine) were honored with Second and Third team honors, respectively.
Flynn and Peters, both of whom earned ECAC New England All-Star recognition, had standout campaigns in 2009. Flynn was named The Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Year for a second consecutive season and scored 11 goals and added nine assists for 31 points. \#Caitlin Peters\# played a vital role in Endicott’s nation-long shutout streak of 1,063:59 minutes that spanned over the entire month of October. Peters and the Gulls posted 11-straight shutouts before allowing a single goal in the conference title game. Peters, who was a First Team TCCC selection, added two assists in her rookie campaign.
\#Amy Meuse\# rejoined the squad in early October and proceeded to post eight shutouts while not allowing a single goal in a stretch of 10 games. Meuse posted a 95.5% save percentage and a goals against average of just 0.24. \#Kayla Plante\# earned Third team honors after scoring five goals in her junior season. Plante notched her first of the year in a 3-2 win over Wellesley and then added a pair of tallies in a 10-0 victory over Regis College. She also had strikes against both New England College and Anna Maria in the last week of October.
