Wheaton kicked off the scoring in the 27th minute of the first half with a goal to put the visitor's up 1-0. Sophomore forward Cassey Muse (Candia, N.H.) raced down the right side of the field to retrieve the ball and then with a cross found teammate Kristina Braga (Lowell, Mass.). Braga collected the pass and struck the ball past Endicott keeper \#Natalie Wyrsch\# (Dover, N.H.) for the freshman's first goal of the season.
Endicott looked to even up the score before halftime as both \#Heather Moody\# (Dunstable, Mass.) and \#Karyn Plante\# (Sanford, Maine) had close-range shots denied by the Lyons defense. Moody fired a shot from the left side of the box that was saved by Wheaton junior goalie Lindsay Leddy (Warwick, R.I.) but Plante was there for a second-chance opportunity but her attempt was blocked by the defense. The score would remain 1-0 going into halftime.
In the second half, Wheaton stretched their lead to 2-0 late in the second half at 80:41 after an Endicott foul gave the Lyons a free kick attempt just outside the goalie box. Wheaton's senior defender Alessia Viscomi (Newton, Mass.) directed her shot to the upper right corner of the net, beating Wyrsch and adding an insurance goal.
Endicott held a 16-12 shot advantage in the game but managed just four shots on goal as the Wheaton defense protected their keeper well.
Between the posts, Wyrsch tally five saves and allowed two goals for the Gulls while Leddy made four saves for the Lyons.
