Kansas City, Kan. – Endicott women’s soccer player Colleen Pepin (Fairhaven, Mass.) and the rest of the 2011 Gulls team have been honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for their academic achievements over the past academic year.
Pepin was named to the Third Team of the NSCAA All-East Region, while the Gulls received the national team academic award.
Pepin, a senior captain who scored 16 goals for the Gulls, becomes Endicott’s first individual player to earn NSCAA All-Region status. She was well deserving of the recognition, posting a 3.94 GPA and having impressive credentials in and out of the classroom. Pepin is a three-year Dean's list student and a member of the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society. She has already held a forensic accounting internship at Carey & Company, P.C. and was a human resources intern at Acushnet Company, while doing community service work with the Pan-Mass Challenge, the United Way, and Relay for Life.
Pepin recently made Endicott athletics history when she was one of the first Gulls to be named as a Capital One Academic All-America honoree this past November.
The team academic award is presented to any men’s or women’s soccer team in the country that achieves a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. This year, a total of 792 soccer teams (220 men, 572 women) qualified for this recognition. The Gulls finished with a 3.28 GPA, earning them the award for the fourth time in the past five seasons.
The Gulls women’s soccer program, led by head coach Jodi Kenyon, finished with a 12-9 record in 2011, reaching the finals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) tournament for the 11th straight year and making their second consecutive appearance in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England region tournament.
