2011 ECAC DIII New England All-Stars
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Endicott’s Colleen Pepin (Fairhaven, Mass.) and Caitlin Peters (Salem, N.H.) tacked on another postseason accolade on Wednesday afternoon, earning ECAC Division III New England First Team All-Star honors.
Pepin and Peters were two of just 11 players recognized on the ECAC New England First Team list and were the lone representatives from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). Only Kaitlyn Birrell from Salve Regina and Emily Lodge from the University of New England appeared with the Second Team honorees.
Senior forward Colleen Pepin wrapped up her four-year career in the Blue and Green with 162 points (71g, 20a) following a 16-goal, four-assist effort in 2011. Pepin came up big in non-conference games, finding the back of the net against Wheaton, Babson, Tufts, and Brandeis. In a 2-0 Gulls win over regionally-ranked Tufts, Endicott’s first against a NESCAC school, Pepin scored one of her six game-winning goals of the season and assisted on an insurance goal in the second half.
Pepin was also recognized in 2011 as CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Capital One Academic All-America Second Team, NSCAA All-New England Second Team, NEWISA All-New England First Team, and First Team All-CCC. She was also invited to play in the NEWISA Senior Bowl where she recorded two assists.
Peters, the CCC’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2011, led a Gulls backfield that ranked second in the conference in goals allowed (1.0 per game) and held opponents to just 6.5 shots per game. Peters was recognized as All-CCC First Team, NEWISA All-New England First Team, and NSCAA All-New England Second Team.
