Joseph Receives CCC Rookie of the Week Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- After notching her first career hat trick in the team's 8-1 win over UNE, freshman Jessica Joseph (Bedford, N.H.) has been named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week.  The honor is the first of the season for Joseph and is the first Rookie of the Week award for the team.

In the 8-1 victory, the freshman impressively netted her three goals in just an eight minute span against a Nor'easter defense that came in allowing just 1.27 goals per game on average. The forward's three goals came on her only three shots of the match which has helped to eleavate her to fifth on the team in Shot on Goal percentage with .619.  Joseph is now tied for the Gulls team lead in goals with six.

Joseph and the rest of the Gulls return to action tomorrow evening as they play host to cross town and bitter CCC rival Gordon at 4 p.m.  The match pits two of the three teams that are currently tied for first against each other with a possibility of seeing the winner awarded the top overall seed in the CCC tournament.
