SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Following a week in which she held opponents scoreless in two straight games, Endicott goal keeper Katie Donnelly (Madison, Conn.) was named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday. It is the second time this season that Donnelly has received the honor with the first coming the week of September 29th. Donnelly's honor marked the second straight week that an Endicott player has received Defensive Player of the Week honors as fellow senior Clare Mansfield (Stoneham, Mass.) held the honor in the previous week. In the 1-0-1 week, Donnelly blanked both teams, running her scoreless minutes streak to just over 320 minutes. The senior started the week off making four saves against UMass Boston, a team that had scored 12 goals in their previous three contests, earning the Gulls a 0-0 tie. Donnelly then finished the week with three saves in just over 63 minutes of play against Salve Regina before being lifted with a 6-0 lead in the team's 7-0 win.
Donnelly is now allowing 0.77 goals against on the season and has a save percentage of .848. Endicott plays host to Curry on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. before taking to the road for two matches to close out the regular season.
