Five Women Named to 2015 All-CCC Teams

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The Office of the Commissioner of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced the 2015 Women's Soccer All-Conference teams on Friday, and Endicott saw five student-athletes earn the distinction. In head coach Jodi Kenyon's 11 years at the helm, 54 student-athletes have now received All-CCC honors, including nine major award winners.

The All-CCC honors consist of a First, Second and a Third team. Endicott's two All-CCC First Team recipients, Paige Marinelli (Burlington, Conn.) and Katherine Chipman (Brunswick, Maine) and All-CCC Second Team recipients Ashley Mueskes (Georgetown, Mass.) and LeeAnn Card (Paxton, Mass.) are seniors while freshman Sharlotte Pernice (West Springfield, Mass.) was the Gulls' lone All-CCC Third Team honoree.

For Marinelli, the First Team distinction is the second All-CCC First Team award of her career as she was also named to the team last season. In 2015, Marinelli finished first on the team in assists (5), and second in goals (4) and points (13) despite playing in only 12 of 17 matches due to injury, and leads an offense that has averaged 1.7 goals per game in 2015. The senior has 14 goals, 12 assists and 40 points in 67 career games played.

Chipman, a three year starting defender, receives her first All-CCC nod as she continued a streak of eight straight seasons that at least one Endicott defender has been named to the All-CCC First Team. Chipman started all 17 matches this season for the Gulls and was a key component to Endicott's strong back line play that allowed just 0.65 goals per game in conference play, and 0.92 goals per game overall. The senior has now played in 57 career games.

Playing as a center-back for the first time in her Endicott career, Card played a major role in solidifying the defensive unit. Having started all 16 of the matches she played in, Card received All-CCC Second Team honors for the second time in her career, having received the honor during her sophomore season, 2013. Card was also named CCC Honorable Mention in 2014, making her the lone three-time recipient in this year's class. Card has now played in 80 matches throughout her career, registering 11 goals and three assists for 25 points.

Senior center-mid Ashley Mueskes has enjoyed a career year in 2015 as she received an All-CCC Second Team nod for the first time in her four years dawning the Blue and Green. The Georgetown, Mass. native has posted six goals and three assists for 15 points on the year, career bests in all three categories. Mueskes is currently first on the roster in goals and points and second in assists for an offense that has averaged 1.7 goals per game on the season. To date, the senior has played in 63 matches, starting 50 of them, and has recorded eight goals, nine assists and 25 points.

Endicott's lone non-senior All-CCC member in 2015 is freshman Sharlotte Pernice who earned All-CCC Third Team honors as a forward. Pernice is currently tied for third on the team in all offensive categories with three goals, two assists and eight points in her first collegiate campaign. Of her three goals, two were game-winners as her second career goal in the team's 2-0 win over Western New England was her first while she also scored the lone tally in the team's 1-0 win over Gordon to end the regular season. The freshman has played in all 17 matches this season, starting four of them.

The Endicott women's team will return to action on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. as they play host to Salve Regina in CCC Quarterfinal action. The Gulls have been awarded the #4 seed while the Seahawks were named the #5 seed in the 2015 CCC Women's Soccer Tournament.
