2025 SEASON PREVIEW: Women's Soccer Looks To Make Noise In Pien's First Season At The Helm
August 21, 2025
BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team kicks off its 2025 season on August 29 at Nazareth in a 4 PM start. Here's your inside look at the Gulls' upcoming season.
FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- In her debut season, Lauren Pien takes over as the fourth head coach in program history. The first-time head coach and 2016 Rochester grad was named to the United Soccer Coaches "30 Under 30" program as one of the bright young stars in the industry, and most recently served as Rochester's Assistant Coach/Lead Recruiting Coordinator from 2022-25. During her tenure, the Yellowjackets made deep NCAA postseason runs, highlighted by 2023's Elite Eight berth.
- Senior defender Madeline Barbieri (Cranston, R.I.), senior midfielder Hannah Lord (Bedford, N.H.), and senior defender Michelle Donahue (Melrose, Mass.) have been named the captains of this season's squad. The experienced trio have played a combined 159 matches (87 starts) through their careers thus far.
- The Gulls feature 13 freshmen on the 2025 roster. It is the largest incoming class for the women's soccer program since the 2021 season (14).
- The second-ranked defense in the Conference of New England (CNE) last season (.85 goals allowed per game) returns much of its core. Senior center back Chloe Bauman (Southington, Conn.) and senior outside backs Barbieri and Donahue highlight the defensive unit in the 2025 campaign.
- The Blue and Green play eight home games and 10 road games this season. They play a stretch of four straight home games between September 20 - 30 (Suffolk, 9/20; Wheaton, 9/24; Hartford, 9/27; Southern Maine, 9/30).
