Endicott Ends Season on High Note

NEWPORT, RI - One day after its nine-game win streak was snapped, Endicott rebounded to defeat Roger Williams, 5-2, Monday.
Singles winners were No. 2 Kate Roundy (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury), 2-6, 6-2, 10-3, and No. 5 Lauren Gibbons (Shaker Heights, OH/Shaker Heights), 6-1, 6-2, for the Gulls, who finished its season at 10-1 overall (8-1 CCC).
Endicott swept doubles play behind Roundy/Carli Conners (Medina, OH/Medina) at first doubles; Gibbons/Blythe Langley (North Hampton, NH/Winnacunnet) at second doubles and Brianne Cogan (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga)/Allison Auer (Bedford, NH/Trinity) at third doubles.
The CCC Tournament was slated to begin this week, but no official start date has been issued because the bad weather in the region has forced a rash of postponements and many regular season matches still need to be played in order to settle the seeds.
Endicott will be the No. 2 seed, however, and will enjoy home court until the finals.
