Women's Tennis Stifles UNE, 7-0
BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Endicott women's tennis team swept the University of New England (UNE), 7-0, in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Tuesday afternoon at Blue Cyclone Complex.
In doubles, Emily Leclerc (Manchester, N.H.) and Caroline Sutliffe (Duxbury, Mass.) took a commanding 6-0 victory at No. 2. While at No. 1 and No. 3, Jillian Friedman (Austin, Texas) / Nadia Uzelac (Waltham, Mass.) and Amber Woods (Scarborough, Maine) / Abbey Fleming (Wolfeboro, N.H.) both won by a score of 6-2 to secure the doubles point for the Gulls.
Meanwhile in singles, Fleming cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5, Uzelac collected a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4, and Julia Rockler (Lidingo, Sweden) clinched the overall match with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 6.
Friedman, Sutliffe, and Leclerc finished off the sweep with scores of (6-2, 6-3), (6-3, 6-2), and (3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5)).
