Women’s Track & Field Places Fourth At CNE Championship
WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott women’s track and field team placed fourth overall at the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship on Saturday evening, hosted by Gordon College.
WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott women's track and field team placed fourth overall at the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship on Saturday evening, hosted by Gordon College.
Endicott scored 106 points to rank ahead of Roger Williams (70), UNE (57), Western New England (25), Wentworth (18), and Nichols (15).
Gordon topped the field with 175 points, ending Endicott's two-year reign atop the conference, while Hartford (153) and Suffolk (122) finished in second and third place.
The Gulls' points breakdown went as follows: sprints (4), hurdles (22), distance (40), throws (4), jumps (26), and relays (10).
In total, Endicott compiled four first place finishes, two runner-up placements, and one third place performance over the two-day meet.
Student-athletes who place first (gold medalist), second (silver medalist), or third (bronze medalist) in an event earn All-Conference First Team, Second Team, and Third Team honors.
Postseason awards will be voted on by the league's head coaches next week.
Following the voting period, the conference will recognize a Track Athlete of the Year, Track Rookie Runner of the Year, Field Athlete of the Year, Field Rookie of the Year, and Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Coaches will also vote on winners for Coach of the Year and Community Service Team.
GOLD MEDALISTS
- Alexa Suchy (Guilford, Conn.) won the 3,000m steeplechase on Friday evening, leading the race wire-to-wire in 11:44.77 to become the first student-athlete in program history to earn gold in the event.
- Hannah Risko (Albany, N.Y.) defended her 800m title, besting the field of 20-plus runners with a time of 2:18.33 (second place, 2:21.22).
- Meagan McAndrews (Amesbury, Mass.) captured the program's first-ever gold medal in the 400m hurdles in a school record time of 1:06.73 (previous record, McAndrews, 1:08.17, 3/22/25).
- Abby Griffith (Franklin, Mass.) posted a school record mark of 35 feet and 2.50 inches in the triple jump for her first career gold medal (previous record, Griffith, 35-0.75).
SILVER MEDALISTS
- Griffith cleared a height of 5 feet and 1.50 inches in the high jump on Friday, claiming her first career All-Conference honor, at the time.
- Risko clocked a time of 4:40.84 for second place in the 1,500m.
BRONZE MEDALISTS
- Chloe Crear (Pelham, N.H.) collected her second career medal in the 400m hurdles (silver, 2024) with a time of 1:09.63.
