Women’s Track & Field Produces Strong Showing At New England D3 Indoor Championship
BOSTON, Mass. — The Endicott women's track and field team competed at the New England Division III Indoor Championship on Sunday evening, hosted at the TRACK at new balance.
Addy Smith (North Kingstown, R.I.), Olivia Novello (Ipswich, Mass.), Tiana Brown (Nashua, N.H.), and Kaylee Whitney (Milford, Mass.) highlighted the Gulls as the 4x200m relay quartet clocked a school record time of 1:50.50 (18th overall).
The previous school record was 1:51.16, set at last year's New England D3 Championship.
Smith also ran the last leg of Endicott's 4x400m relay with teammates Gabby Peniche (Milford, Mass.), Chloe Crear (Pelham, N.H.), and Willa McKay (Whitman, Mass.).
The relay squad ranked 16th overall in 4:17.80, good enough for second on the program's all-time performance list.
In the 60m hurdles, Brown placed 10th overall with a personal best time of 9.17 seconds.
Her finish ranked first among all freshmen in the field of 23 competitors, which featured first-year hurdlers from MIT, Wesleyan, and Trinity (Conn.).
Abby Griffith (Franklin, Mass.) rounded out the Gulls' efforts with a 12th place finish in the high jump (5-0.25).
