Brown, Suchy Earn USTFCCCA East Region Honors
BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott student-athletes Tiana Brown (Nashua, N.H.) and Alexa Suchy (Guilford, Conn.) have earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors.
Brown claimed East Region accolades in the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles, while Suchy picked up the honor in the 3,000m steeplechase.
The top-8 individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Athletic.net Descending Order Lists earn All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-8 relay teams.
The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.
TIANA BROWN | FR. | SPRINTS/HURDLES
Brown is the first freshman in program history to garner USTFCCCA All-Region accolades in both the indoor (60m hurdles) and outdoor seasons during the same calendar year.
The reigning Conference of New England (CNE) Track Rookie of the Year finished the outdoor season with the following East Region rankings: 100m hurdles (No. 7, 14.80, Sean Collier Invitational) and 400m hurdles (No. 5, 1:03.80, CNE Championship).
Today's announcement marks her 11th postseason honor this academic year (5 All-Region, 4 All-CNE, 2 CNE Major Awards).
ALEXA SUCHY | JR. | DISTANCE
Suchy is the first distance runner in program history to receive USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the 3,000m steeplechase.
The junior harrier accomplished the feat with an All-New England performance at the NCAA Division III New England Championships on May 2.
Suchy placed fourth overall in the event with a school record time of 11:26.30 (previous record: 11:43.78, 5/13/19), good enough for eighth on the East Region performance list.
This is Suchy's fourth postseason honor for the outdoor season (2 All-Region, 1 All-CNE, CNE Community Service Award).
