Gulls face #12 and #15 ranked teams in the nation at Colorado College Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Facing nationally ranked \#15 Concordia-Moorhead and \#12 Colorado Collegey, the Endicott women's volleyball went 0-2 on day one of the Colorado College Invitational.
Match One vs \#15 Concordia-Moorhead

Endicott lost in straight sets to \#15 Concordia-Moorhead (25-6, 25-13, 25-21) in their first match the Colorado College Invitational. Concordia, NCAA Tournament qualifiers in 2010, used an 18 team block effort and eleven different players with kills to down the Gulls.
The Gulls, five-time qualifiers for the NCAA Tournament, saw sophomore Callie Dolan (Westford, Mass.) lead the team with five kills and junior Ashley Norley (Sudbury, Mass.) had a match-high 16 digs in the loss.
Cobbers senior Jenna Green (Dilworth, Minn.) led her team with seven kills with Ashley Beseman (Raymond, Minn.) and Alison Bruggeman (Moorhead, Minn.) chipping in with six and five kills, respectively. Moorhead setter Amy Sykora (Rapid City, S.D.) found her teammates for 21 assists.
Endicott junior Falyn Torelli (Pelham, N.Y.) and freshman Alexandra Gearin (Los Angeles, Calif.) tied for second-best on the team with four kills each. They had seven and eight digs, respectively.
Match Two vs \#12 Colorado College

Match two of the day against \#12 Colorado College saw the Gulls take the second set 25-23, but the TIgers won three sets 25-14, 25-15, and 25-15 to win 3-1.
Senior Elyse Barbour (Greenville, R.I.) struck eight kills with just two errors to lead the Endicott attack. Gearing tied Barbour with eight kills and also added seven digs. Gulls setter Sarah Allshouse had 21 assists with 11 digs in the loss.
Colorado College had two players reach the double-digit kills mark with Kate Squires (Dallas, Texas) and Amy Schornack (Plano, Texas) recording 13 and 10 kills a piece. Laura Goldsmith (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) added nine kills for the host institution. The Tigers also saw Schornack dish out 40 assists in the match with 10 digs and four total blocks.
For the victors, libero Hannah Varnell (Clemons, N.C.) and for Endicott, Ashley Norley, each had a match-high 18 digs.
Endicott continues competition in the Colorado College Invitational when they face the second-ranked team in the nation, Washington University out of Missouri, at 2:00 pm Saturday.
