SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Senior Callie Dolan (Westford, Mass.) was named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week and freshman Tori McIntyre (San Diego, Calif.) was named Rookie of the Week to take home the team's first honors of the season. Both played pivotal roles in helping the team to a 3-2 week that included wins over three regionally ranked opponents in #11 Trinity, #10 MIT and #8 Conn. College.
Outside Callie Dolan led the team in kills in every match with no less than 12 kills per match, while also recording three double-doubles in kills and digs on the week. In a 3-1 victory over Trinity, the senior recorded 19 kills (hitting .364) and 11 digs. Against MIT (3-0), the outside hitter recorded 12 kills and five digs and then went on to earn 16 kills and 10 digs in a 3-2 win over Connecticut College. In a tough 3-2 loss to Trinity, the senior earned 16 kills and 10 digs. Dolan raised her overall kills/set to 3.16 for the season and has already recorded 139 kills on the season.
Fellow outside Tori McIntyre helped lead the Gulls as she recorded three double-doubles on the week in kills and digs, including a fourth match with double-digit digs. The freshman recorded her three double-doubles in a 3-1 victory over Trinity (16 kills, 12 digs), a 3-2 win over Connecticut College (14, 16), and a tough 3-2 loss to Bates (13, 12). The freshman also recorded 17 kills in a tough 3-2 loss to regionally ranked Tufts (No. 7). On the week, McIntyre ranked second on the team in kills in three of the five matches.
Endicott is now 4-7 on the season. The Gulls return to action Wednesday as they open up CCC play at cross-town rival Gordon at 7 p.m.
