Women’s Volleyball Goes 2-0 On Final Day At Dallas Invitational

DALLAS, Texas – The Endicott women's volleyball team picked up two wins on Saturday evening against Brooklyn College and the University of Dallas to conclude its three-day trip to Texas. 

In match one of the day, Endicott defeated Brooklyn, 3-0, by scores 25-21, 26-24, and 25-12, while match two saw the Gulls top the University of Dallas, 3-0, by scores of 25-14, 25-16, and 25-19. 

Emma Mancini (Lynnfield, Mass.) guided the offense with 26 kills (.333) over both matches. Meanwhile, Zoey Gifford (Natick, Mass.) dished out a team-high 45 assists, which aided the Gulls' attack to boast a combined .298 hitting percentage in both wins. 

Lauren Sheehan (Bainbridge Island, Wash.), Nicole Winkler (Southborough, Mass.), Alex Dippel (Fallston, Md.) and Remi Quesnelle (Sunderland, Mass.) also highlighted today's pair of victories as all four student-athletes compiled 10 kills or more. Defensively, Mackenzie Kennedy (Andover, Mass.) and Nichole Trudon (Coventry, Conn.) stood out with 22 and 20 digs, respectively. 

MATCH ONE: Endicott 3, Brooklyn 0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-12) 

Endicott raised its hitting percentage in every set (.237, .298, .323) to pull away from the Bulldogs (5-3) after the first two sets were decided by a combined six points. 

Mancini led the way with 11 kills (.308), while Quesnelle added 10 and Sheehan had nine putaways in the victory. 

MATCH TWO: Endicott 3, University of Dallas (25-14, 25-16, 25-19) 

Gifford ran Endicott's most efficient offense of the invitational, as the Gulls hit .313 (46 kills, 11 errors, 112 attacks) and won every set by six points or more versus the University of Dallas (4-7). 

Gifford orchestrated 45 out of the 46 kills in the nightcap with Mancini and Dippel benefiting with 15 (.351) and 10 kills (.333), respectively. Winkler also added nine putaways and Sheehan turned in eight to highlight the rest of the attack. 

Defensively, Cydney Pierce (Carpinteria, Calif.) registered a team-high 16 digs, while, as a team, Endicott notched seven blocks (one solo, 12 assisted). 


Endicott (6-5) hosts Wentworth in a league matchup on Wednesday, September 20 at 7 PM.
