Women's Volleyball Reverse Sweeps Bowdoin, 3-2
BRUNSWICK, Maine — The Endicott women's volleyball team came from behind to defeat Bowdoin in five sets, 3-2, by scores of 20-25, 18-25, 25-15, 25-18, and 15-8 in non-conference action Wednesday night from Morrell Gymnasium.
Ava Grace Dresback (Pawcatuck, Conn.) and Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) powered the Gulls' offense behind a combined 42 kills (22/20). Helebrook also finished the match with 10 digs, while Dresback had nine digs and two solo blocks.
Hannah Maguire (San Jose, Calif.) ran the offense with 48 assists as Endicott hit .227 as a team during the match. The sophomore finished with 14 digs and four kills in the comeback victory.
On the backline, Abby Downs (Billerica, Mass.) finished with a career-high 28 digs while adding seven assists and a service ace. At the front of the net, Stephanie Moreau (Methuen, Mass.) recorded six kills and had three solo blocks as the Gulls had eight solo blocks in total during the match.
In the fifth set, the Gulls raced out to an 8-3 lead, forcing a Bowdoin timeout and never looked back. Six different Gulls had putaways in the final set to help secure the five-set victory.
