Women’s Volleyball Handles Regis On The Road, 3-1
WESTON, Mass. – The Endicott women's volleyball team defeated Regis College, 3-1, by scores of 21-25, 25-11, 25-16, and 25-19 in non-conference action on Wednesday night at Higgins Court.
Ava Grace Dresback (Pawcatuck, Conn.) filled the stat sheet with a match-high 15 kills, eight digs, four services, and three block assists.
Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) contributed 11 kills and nine digs to the victory, while Hannah Maguire (San Jose, Calif.) ran the offense with 30 assists.
Abby Downs (Billerica, Mass.) guided the defensive effort for the Gulls with a match-high 20 digs (second 20+ dig match of the season).
Maguire also notched 11 digs to record her fourth double-double of the year.
Tonight's match featured 12 ties (7-0-1-4) and five lead changes (3-0-0-2).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott leads the all-time series 19-2 (18 straight victories dating back to 1999).
- The Gulls erased an early 1-0 deficit by limiting Regis to negative hitting percentages in the second (.-130, season-worst) and third (.-100, second-lowest) sets, respectively.
- Regis fought back in the final set, tying the score at 19-19, but Endicott benefited from three errors, and ripped off one service ace, and a pair of kills to finish off the triumph.
- Helenbrook is 50 kills away from reaching 1,000 for her career.
- The junior outside hitter has compiled 10 or more kills in 10 out of 11 matches this season.
- Endicott snapped a three-match losing streak with tonight's win.
- Downs has registered 10 or more digs in five straight matches (9/13-24).

Endicott (6-5) takes on No. 6 Johns Hopkins (12 PM) and No. 22 Wesleyan (5 PM) in Middletown, Conn., on Saturday, September 27. Regis (6-7) visits Rhode Island College tomorrow at 6 PM.
