MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — The Endicott women's volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference matches to No. 6 Johns Hopkins (3-1) and No. 22 Wesleyan (Conn.) (0-0) on Saturday afternoon at Silloway Gymnasium.
No. 6 JOHNS HOPKINS 3, ENDICOTT 1 (23-25, 18-25, 28-26, 18-25)
Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) posted a match-high 23 kills and was one of four Gulls with 10 or more digs as the junior posted 11.
Hannah Maguire (San Jose, Calif.) dished out 35 assists and picked out a team-high 15 digs, while Ava Grace Dresback (Pawcatuck, Conn.) logged a double-double with 11 putaways and 13 digs.
Defensively, Abby Downs (Billerica, Mass.) finished the match with 13 digs along with seven assists.
No. 22 WESLEYAN (CONN.) 3, ENDICOTT 0 (14-25, 22-25, 16-25)
Helenbrook led the Gulls offensively with 15 kills and had seven digs.
Annie Draper (North Kingston, R.I.) recorded 11 kills in the setback, while Dresback added seven putaways.
Maguire finished the match with another double-double as the sophomore facilitated the offense with 29 assists to go with 13 digs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- First-ever meeting between Endicott and Johns Hopkins and 1-7 against Wesleyan (Conn.) all-time.
- Fourth straight double-dobule for Maguire.
- Career-high kills in a match for Draper.
