Women Volleyball Sweeps Suffolk, 3-0
BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's volleyball team defeated Suffolk University in straight sets (25-13, 25-17, and 25-15) on Saturday afternoon in Conference of New England (CNE) action from MacDonald Gymnasium.
Ava Grace Dresback (Pawcatuck, Conn.) and Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) combined for 18 kills (10 and eight, respectively) to lead the Gulls offense.
Hannah Maguire (San Jose, Calif.) facilitated the Gulls' attack via a match-high 30 assists. Maguire also added three kills on five swings (.600), two digs, a solo block, and a match-high five service aces to her stat line.
Kelsey Sanborn (Londonderry, N.H.) added 7 putaways (.312) and two service aces. Also at the net, Talia Camacho (Franklin Sqaure, N.Y.) chipped in five kills on eight attempts (.625), two block assists, and one solo block.
Abby Downs (Billerica, Mass) guided the defense with a match-high 12 digs while adding three service aces. Dresback and Helenbrook both recorded nine digs each.
Today's match featured nine ties (1-3-5) and five lead changes (1-1-3).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott improves to 9-0 all-time versus Suffolk.
- Maguire tied her career-high in service aces.
- The Gulls recorded 13 service aces as opposed to the Rams' four.
- The loss snaps a three-match win streak for Suffolk.
