Downs And Dresback Secure CNE Weekly Awards
BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's volleyball junior Abby Downs (Billerica, Mass.) and sophomore Ava Grace Dresback (Pawcatuck, Conn.) have been named the Conference of New England's (CNE) Libero and Player of the Week, respectively, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
AVA GRACE DRESBACK | PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dresback averaged 3.71 kills per set (26 kills, .211 hitting percentage) and 2.71 digs per set (19) in a 2-0 week for the Gulls. The sophomore also went a perfect 46-51 in the serve receive and added three assists, three service aces, and two block assists.
In a 3-0 victory over UNE, Dresback recorded 12 kills (.267) along with eight digs. Also had three assists and one block assist. Was 21-21 in serve receive.
Then, in a 3-1 victory over Johnson & Wales, the sophomore finished with 14 putaways and 11 digs, her ninth double-double of the year. Also had three service aces and a block assist
This is Dresback's first career CNE Player of the Week award.
ABBY DOWNS | LIBERO OF THE WEEK
In a 2-0 week (undefeated in conference) for Endicott, Downs recorded 32 digs (4.57 per set), was a perfect 25-26 in serve receive, recorded two service aces, and two assists.
Downs started the week against UNE with 15 digs and one service ace in a sweep. Was also perfect in serve receive for the third consecutive game.
Followed up against Johnson & Wales, adding 17 digs to go with two assists and a service ace in a 3-1 win. The Billerica, Mass., native was 18-19 in serve-receive.
This marks her third consecutive CNE Libero of the Week award (10/27 and 11/3).

Endicott (15-11) hosts the University of New England on Tuesday, November 11, at 7 PM in the First Round of the CNE Tournament.
