CNE CHAMPIONSHIP: No. 3 Women's Volleyball Visits No. 1 Wentworth For Championship Rematch Opportunity
BOSTON, Mass. — The third-seeded Endicott women's volleyball team (17-11) heads to Boston to take on No. 1 seed Wentworth (22-4) on Saturday, November 15, for the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship. The match is slated for a 1 PM start at the Nelseon Recreation Center.
The Gulls advanced to the championship match after their 3-1 victory on the road at No. 2 seed Roger Williams on Thursday evening. The Blue and Green took the match with scores of 25-22, 25-20, 24-26, and 25-20.
The Leopards punched their ticket to the championship as they took down Gordon, 3-0, by scores of 25-18, 25-18, and 25-14.
FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The championship bout will be the third consecutive meeting between the two programs in the title game. Wentworth won back in 2023, while the Gulls secured the championship in 2024.
- The Gulls defeated Wentworth 3-2 earlier this season, posting scores of 25-18, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21, and 15-13. In the match, Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) became the 10th student-athlete in program history to go over 1,000 career kills.
- Endicott leads the CNE in kills per set with 12.27 and assists per set (11.73).
- Wentworth ranks first in the conference in hitting percentage at .237
- This is the sixth consecutive year the Gulls will be in the conference championship, having won four (2019, 2021, 2022, and 2024).
WHAT'S NEXT
The winner of Saturday's contest will be crowned the 2025 CNE Women's Volleyball Champion and earn the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament.
