Women's Cross Country Wins "Battle Of The North Shore"
WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott women's cross country team defeated host Gordon College in the "Battle of the North Shore" on Saturday morning.
WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott women's cross country team defeated host Gordon College in the "Battle of the North Shore" on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, the Gulls bested the Fighting Scots, 23-36, in the "Battle of the North Shore" dual meet pushing their record in the all-time series to 6-1 overall (started in 2017).
Individually, Hannah Risko (Albany, N.Y.) led the Gulls with a second-place finish on the 5-kilometer course while Alexa Suchy (Guilford, Conn.) was right behind her in third place. Risko and Suchy finished with times of 19:26.6 and 20.42.0.
Lulu Steele (Bedford, Mass.), Corinne Robert (Mattapoisett, Mass.), and Teagan Shaughnessy (Watertown, Mass.) rounded out Endicott's top-5 as they placed fifth, sixth, and seventh (21:05.8, 21:11.0, and 21:16.7)
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Gulls placed six runners inside the top 10 and nine inside the top 15.
- Risko, Robert, Steele, Shaughnessy, and Allie DeVoe (Ridgefield, Conn.) all set personal bests today.
- DeVoe notched a time of 21:17.9, good for eighth place in the meet.
- Risko's time of 19:26.6 was almost three minutes than her time last year at the meet.
