D3 Senior Classic 2011 Preseason All-Americans
BEVERLY, Mass. - Seniors Kevin Eagan (West Hartford, Conn.) and Nick Molinari (Staten Island, N.Y.) were each honored as D3 Senior Classic Preseason All-Americans in anticipation of the upcoming football season.
Eagan, already named a Consensus Draft Services Preseason All-American earlier this summer, has been named to the North squad's First Team Defense at defensive end. Heading into his senior season, Eagan has compiled 267 career tackles, including 47.0 for a loss. He has 15.0 career sacks, eight of which came in Endicott's record-breaking 2010 season when the Gulls won the New England Football Conference Championship and reached the NCAA Tournament. Eagan collected numerous awards last year including NEFC Boyd Division Defensive Player of the Year and ECAC Division III North Defensive Player of the Year.
Molinari earns his first career Preseason All-American nod with a North squad Honorable Mention from the D3 Senior Classic. Molinari, winner of NEFC Boyd Division First Team and D3Football.com Third Team honors, was an integral part of Endicott's success last season in protecting the quarterback and producing a highly effective run game. The Gulls offensive line allowed just 13 sacks in 2010 and created space for Endicott's running backs to the tune of 131.6 yards per game.
