Men’s Volleyball Tops Russell Sage, 3-1
ALBANY, N.Y. — The Endicott men's volleyball team defeated Russell Sage, 3-1, by scores of 25-18, 25-21, 21-25, and 25-20 on Saturday night in New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) action at the Kahl Campus Center.
Aidan Iacovelli (South Windsor, Conn.) led the Gulls to their ninth straight victory by compiling a match-high 19 kills (.310) alongside 10 digs.
Jake Laborde (Brookline, N.H.) also contributed 12 putaways and nine digs for the visitors.
Meanwhile, Thomas Matchett (North Smithfield, R.I.) and Avery Tyson (Fayetteville, N.Y.) registered seven kills apiece, hitting a staggering .545 and .636, respectively.
Matty Tiernan (Bradford, R.I.) ran the majority of the attack, which hit an even .300 on the day, via 38 assists.
Defensively, Dan Battista (Bethlehem, N.Y.) tallied a match-high 17 digs.
Today's match featured 20 ties (2-8-10-0) and 10 lead changes (2-3-5-0).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott is 9-0 in the all-time series (7 shutouts, only lost 2 sets).
- First set dropped by the Gulls this season since 2/14/26 (vs. No. 17 Thiel, W 3-1).
- Today's match marks the third time Endicott has hit .300 or better in a match (56K-17E-130TA, .300).
- Iacovelli has notched 15 or more kills four times this year.
