BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 6 Endicott women's ice hockey team lost to Suffolk University, 3-2, in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Saturday evening at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
Rams' senior left winger Jenna Caballero (Middletown, N.J.) potted the game-winning goal with 16.7 seconds remaining in the contest through a scrum in front of the crease to snap a six-game losing streak.
Caballero netted the tally 15 seconds after the Gulls evened up the score at 2-2 with their net empty.
Jo Wimler (Portland, Conn.) provided the heroics when she backhanded a loose puck in the slot underneath the pads of Katelyn Michals (Westwood, Mass.) for her third of the season (seventh career).
Endicott trailed 1-0 heading into the third period before Lilly Corso (Winchester, Mass.) buried a wrister high glove side from the left faceoff circle at the 9:42 mark (PP) to deadlock the score at one apiece.
Caballero answered for the Rams just 1:25 later, setting the stage for the back-and-forth third period.
In goal, Casey Moritz (Trophy Club, Texas) stopped 16 shots in the setback (1-2-1).
