No. 11 Women’s Ice Hockey Blanks Curry, 2-0
CANTON, Mass. — The No. 11 Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated Curry, 2-0, on Saturday evening in Conference of New England (CNE) action at the Canton Ice House.
Ella Rago (Westford, Mass.) and Cammi Ahern (Oswego, N.Y.) both scored in the victory.
In the second period, Rago broke the stalemate 2:06 into the middle stanza when she roofed home a breakaway goal for her sixth tally of the season.
Joey Brown (Scituate, Mass.) initiated the scoring chance by corralling a loose puck in the neutral zone before finding Rago at center ice. Rago received the tape-to-tape pass from Brown in stride, split two defenders at the blue line, and whistled a shot high blocker side.
Meanwhile, Ahern added the all-important insurance goal on the power play in the third period (11:44).
The senior forward redirected Lilly Corso's (Winchester, Mass.) shot from the left point through traffic at the doorstep for her fourth goal of the season.
Corso was credited with the primary assist (6th), and Adriana Echavarria (Newton, Conn.) collected the secondary helper (2nd) after the duo swung the puck across the point, from right to left, following a successful zone entry.
In goal, Lauren Ferrari (Bridgewater, N.J.) stopped 15 shots to record her eighth career shutout (4th this season).
