BIDDEFORD, Maine — The No. 14 Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated the University of New England (UNE), 4-1, on Saturday night in conference action at the Harold Alfond Forum.
Maggie Holt (Cumberland Foreside, Maine) got Endicott on the board first as she carried the puck into the offensive zone from the midline and sniped home her third goal of the season.
Still leading 1-0 in the second period, a power-play tally from Jo Wimler (Portland, Conn.) doubled the Gulls' advantage. The sophomore snapped a wrist shot past the UNE goalie for her fifth goal of the season.
After the Nor'Easters found the back of the net at the 18:41 mark of the second period, the Blue and Green responded just 29 seconds later with a Teaghan Hall (West Springfield, Mass.) goal. Hall created the opportunity after she picked up the puck in the corner and skated to the middle of the ice, where she beat the goalie short side.
Another power-play goal with less than five minutes to play by Lilly Corso (Winchester, Mass.), who tapped home a rebound opportunity.
In goal, Casey Moritz (Trophy Club, Texas) finished the game with 20 saves as her record improved to 6-2-1 this season.
